This will be a six day/five night ride of 1850 miles.  We will conquer two “Fourteeners”, Pikes Peak and Mount Evans. We will also ride through some beautiful country and on some great roads in Colorado.  As always, we have to get through West Texas and New Mexico first...

We will need to make reservations to ride to the top of Pikes Peak and Mount Evans.

Buy a timed access pass for 8:00-10:00 for each peak. The pass for Mount Evans won't be available till 7/23 Also, you will need to create an account on to buy a ticket.

We will have some longer mile days on the way there and back so that we can spend more time on the mountains.  Please check the Itinerary below.

Please arrive at the start point gassed up and ready to go by 8:00.  We will have a riders meeting at 8:15 and leave promptly at 8:30.

(A) DFW to Amarillo (370 miles, 6 riding hours)

  8:30     Depart

11:30     Lunch at “Rafter J BBQ” in Iowa Park

12:30     Gas (154 miles) in Iowa Park

  2:30     Gas in Memphis (126 miles)

  4:00     Comfort Inn and Suites Amarillo ($106)

  7:00     Dinner at Red Robin (in front of the hotel)



(B) Amarillo to Colorado Springs (375 miles, 6 riding hours)

  8:00     Depart

  3:30     Arrive at the Magnuson’s Grand in Colorado Springs ($125)
