AUTUMN COLORS RIDE

Departs - October 27th. Returns - October 31st (Thursday - Monday)


THE DETAILS:

The ride involves two days to get to Mountain View, and a two day return.  The ride will include the Talimena Drive, some of the best riding between the Appalachian mountains and the Rocky Mountains.  We will stop at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge for a break and some pictures.  We will spend Thursday night in POTEAU, OK.  On the way back, we will spend Sunday night in Robber's Cave State Park.

Just call and reserve a room.  I did not pre-reserve any rooms this time.

Friday we will continue up to Mountain View on more scenic and winding roads.  The further north we get , the more colorful and beautiful the leaves will get.

We will be staying at the Pinewood Cabins in Mountain View, AR Friday and Saturday nights.

We will head back Sunday and stay at the  cabins in Robber's Cave State Park.

Please contact them and make your own reservation.  The sooner, the better.  They may not be accepting reservations at the lodge yet due to renovations. They also have individual cabins.

On Saturday, we have a choice of two day rides, followed by a Group Dinner.

   * R1 is 211 miles, traveling north into Missouri and includes a ride up Push Mountain, a ride on the Peel Ferry, and a BBQ lunch in Mountain Home.  This ride is 80 miles shorter than last year.

   * R2 is a 234 mile ride to the west, and includes a visit to the "Arkansas Grand Canyon" and lunch be at The Cliff House. Following lunch is a ride down the "Arkansas Dragon".

Friday, we will eat at the Pizza Inn buffet in town.  You can walk or ride there.

Saturday, we plan to eat at the Mi Pueblito Mexican Restaurant within walking distance of the cabins.
